Is Underground Plumbing Needed in Basements?

Depending on the basement design, if the original builder put in a plumbing rough-in and if the existing rough-in location is not adequate, then underground plumbing may need to be done. It's not as bad as you may think but typically a concrete company will need to cut your existing concrete slab in channels to allow for plumbing waste lines. After plumbing is in place then a below ground plumbing inspection takes place.

Please Note -- below is an extensive basement finish which includes a full bath, as well as a primary bath with a whirlpool tub and a steam shower. Typically a basement with an existing rough-in will not need this additional work.
